Tony Lucas inspects St Luke’s new energy efficient lighting.

21st of August, 2021

The St Luke’s congregation is very concerned about environmental issues. They attend marches, conferences and protests to further action on the issue. Recently they held a zoom climate conference where scientists, local government leaders and parishioners devised strategies for moving ahead.

They have a water tank, energy efficient lighting and heating, and have upgraded their kitchen to energy efficient appliances and to save water. They participate in the Season of Creation every year, have outdoor and Blessing of the Animals services, and gather silver paper, corks, bottle tops, tags and stamps for special recycling. They are keen to do much more for the environment in coming years, but their dedication is clear, and we are proud to recognise what they have achieved so far with the presentation of the Five Leaf Eco-Awards Basic Certificate and Eco-Worship Award.
